It is jewelry made from a mom's own breast milk. It commemorates a mom's journey whether it be as a nursing mom, donor, surrogate, etc. It is a very special keepsake that reminds moms of both the hardship and joy of nursing.

I spent a ton of time and used my strong chemistry background ( Doctorate in Pharmacy), to come up with a unique chemical and mechanical preservation process. 

After I preserve your milk, I place it in resin and form several protective barriers to ensure your piece is built to last. 

Although there is no way for me to "prove" your milk was used, as a nursing mother I know the importance and symbolism of these items. 

As a pharmacist, precision and exactness is essential; one mistake in filling someone's prescription could result in serious adverse reactions or even death. 

I take the responsibility of handling your milk as seriously as I do in my professional career.

1. Browse through the catalog section and purchase the item(s) of choice.

2. When the order is complete, I will send an email of detailed instructions on how and where to send the milk. This sometimes goes to the junk/spam folder. 

3. Ship the milk according to the directions in the email.

4. Once I receive your milk, I will add your order number to the Order Status page and you can track my progress from there.

1. Place at least 1/2 ounce (15ml) of breast milk in a small storage container (tape the lid) or breast milk bag. Please double bag either the bottle or bag

2. Label must be on the actual item with the milk- not a separate, detached piece of paper. Please label the item with:

3. Take to your local post office or shipping carrier. It is legal to ship breast milk. You would just have to specify, it is milk for jewelry purposes when asked.

Yes, absolutely! Even if the milk arrives spoiled, it can still be preserved and made into jewelry.  The oldest sample I've preserved is about 20 years old.

I use very high quality preservation chemicals and jewelry settings. I custom design almost all of my settings and build them to last a lifetime. I've been a breast milk artist since 2015 and I'm so happy to say issues are extremely rare.

With that said, I want you to be 100% happy with your breast milk jewelry. It is symbolic of your journey and I want it to be perfect for you. If you have any issues, please contact me upon receipt of your product. 

Breast milk jewelry is very delicate. 

• Do not use jewelry cleaners. To clean your items, please only use a soft polishing cloth that is specifically made for silver and gold jewelry. This will remove any tarnishing or dullness and keep your items looking new.
• Do not wear your jewelry in or near moisture such as showers, pools, baths, beaches, etc
• Do not wear your jewelry while working out- sweat and body oils can damage the surface of the jewelry
• Remove your jewelry before doing any cleaning or before using essential oils
• Do not expose your jewelry to extreme temperatures
• Store your milk jewelry in a little airtight baggy (small ziploc preferably), away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. It is also a good idea to insert a small anti-tarnishing strip. 

Timeline for Sending in Inclusions:

1 Year: Customers have one (1) year from the date of purchase to submit their inclusions. For example:

An order placed on August 2nd, 2024, must have inclusions received by August 2nd, 2025.
An order placed on October 31st, 2023, must have inclusions received by October 31st, 2024.

Late Fees: If inclusions arrive after the initial one-year window, reinstatement fees apply, as follows:

1-2 Years: Twenty-five percent (25%) of the original order value. (Example: If your original order was $100, the reinstatement fee would be $25.)

Late Fee Example: An order placed on January 1st, 2023, would incur a 25% reinstatement fee if inclusions arrive between January 2nd, 2024, and December 31st, 2024.

2-3 Years: Fifty percent (50%) of the original order value. (Example: If your original order was $100, the reinstatement fee would be $50.)

Late Fee Example: An order placed on January 1st, 2022, would incur a 50% reinstatement fee if inclusions arrive between January 2nd, 2024, and December 31st, 2025.

Over 3 Years: Orders will be forfeited, and no refunds or store credit will be issued.

Your wait time starts when both the milk is received and the order is placed. Any changes to the order can delay the process.

The entire process of creating your keepsake can take six (6) to twenty (20) weeks to complete. If you have not received your keepsake by the approximate delivery date, please contact us on the next business day.

No, every mamma is unique and the jewelry will reflect that. No two mother's breast milk is the same. There will be many variations especially in color. Many of my friends joke and tell me I produce "skim milk" because it's so light in color, but many moms produce what my nursing mothers friends call "butter" which can vary in color (very yellow to bright white).

Each piece is handmade(both milk and settings) and as with all handmade items, there is no such thing as a "perfect" piece. Under close inspection, you made see tiny imperfections that will not impact the longevity of your piece. I will not remake or refund any orders for this reason.

Your request must be super detailed and include the following:

1. size of the entire piece in millimeters

2. size of different aspects like bezels and stones in millimeters

3. picture of desired items- can be handrawn

4. metal type

5. stone type

If there is enough milk leftover, I keep your milk for at least a year. If you would like to purchase another piece, please email me at hello@mllkeepsakes.com to make sure I still have milk left over. If I confirm I still have left over milk, please reference your old order number in the notes section of the new order. We ask that you never send the last of any inclusion and keep a stock at home. The ONLY inclusion that will be returned is ash.

Yes, adding to an in progress order can save you time overall.

Please note it may add a few weeks to your existing wait time, but is still significantly less than the 17-21 weeks you would have to wait after an order is shipped.

Solid Gold is the most valuable form of jewelry you can buy. It is a precious metal and I personally find it to be the best metal of choice. I realize it is not in everyone's budget, therefore I have a gold filled option to resemble solid gold.

Gold-Filled jewelry is made by bonding gold to a base metal (I use silver as a base metal) to resemble the look of solid gold. It is a much better option than plated jewelry. 

Gold Plated Jewelry- This is a thin plating of gold over a base metal. You would have to get the jewelry re-plated over time and it not a great option in terms of longevity.  I DO NOT OFFER THIS OPTION.

Almost anything with stones can be customized. The drop down menu that is located under each listing will color the ENTIRE piece that birthstone color if chosen. In order to customize which stones you'd like colored, please use the birthstone customization button available under each listing.

Please be sure to include a detailed description and picture including month/color according to my birthstone chart and placement.

Your milk undergoes chemical and mechanical processing that can alter color. If your milk is very translucent after mixing with resin, we add with a brightener to the mixture. We only do this when necessary. It prevents the milk stone from taking on the dark tint of the setting and accentuates the beauty of your milk.

Yes, along with the shimmers and flakes, theres a white stone option you can choose. It is still your milk being used, but a colorant will be added to produce a white stone.
