The ash stone represents 44 years of love (almost 41 of them married) cut too short by Covid last January. The nine stones around the round side are the birthstones of our nine children. The stones on the stacker are the birthstones of my children’s spouses-my “added” children. This ring represents my husband surrounded by his children-his “happy place”.

What can I include in a memorial piece?
We can work with ashes, hair, fur, dried florals, and even fabric. If you’re unsure if something can be preserved, just send us a message or email us at hello@mllkeepsakes.com—we’re here to walk you through it.
Can you combine multiple inclusions in one piece?
Yes. Many mammas and families choose to include more than one item—like ashes and florals, ashes and breastmilk, or hair and fabric.
We’ll treat each inclusion with the same care and can work with you to design a piece that honors everything you want to hold onto.
How much ash and hair do you need?
For ashes, a tiny pinch—about 1/2 teaspoon—is more than enough.
For hair or fur, an inch long of about 20 strands (if possible).
Anything you send that isn’t used will be returned safely with your completed piece.
Can I make a memorial piece for a pet?
Absolutely. We’ve created keepsakes for dogs, cats, horses, and even bunnies.
If they were part of your family, they deserve to be remembered.
You can use their ashes, fur, or even dried flowers from their resting place.
Will I see the ashes in the piece?
Yes, the ashes can be seen in the piece.
How do I send my inclusions safely?
If you’re in the U.S., you can purchase an Inclusion Collection Kit to make things simpler—it includes a container, instructions, and a prepaid return label.
If you’d rather send it on your own (or you’re outside the U.S.), that’s perfectly fine too. Just follow the step-by-step instructions in our Shipping Your Inclusions FAQ to make sure they arrive safely.
However you decide to send it, we’ll take care of your keepsake with all the love and respect it deserves.
Can I add a birthstone or engraving?
Yes, most of our pieces can be customized with birthstones, engravings, or added charms.
These small details often mean the most—we’re happy to help you design something as unique as the person (or pet) you’re remembering.
How long does it take to create?
Turnaround times vary depending on the season, but most memorial pieces take about 2–12 weeks from the time we receive your inclusions.
We promise: it’s worth the wait.
What if I’m not ready to send the ashes yet?
That’s okay. Many of our customers choose to order now and take their time. You can send your inclusions when you’re ready—whether that’s next week or a few months from now.
However, we require that all inclusions be sent within 1 year of purchase.
