I gave my donor a breast milk necklace and she cried tears of joy upon receiving it.
I have to admit my nursing journey wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. It was an emotional roller coaster to say the least. We went through undiagnosed lip ties, feeding hours on end, and pumping like a maniac (8-10 times daily) all while battling PPD. When my second child was born, I had a wonderful milk donor that helped us until my milk supply came in two weeks later. I wanted to thank her and decided to use my doctorate in pharmacy (6 years of chemistry) to try to find a chemical solution that would work to preserve her milk. I gave my donor a breast milk necklace and she cried tears of joy upon receiving it. She encouraged me to start a business to spread the same joy and that is how Mamma’s Liquid Love was born.
